So, I gathered the TimesPro squad stakeholders, sales leads, even students at the study centre and held a whiteboard session. We peeled back layers to expose the real battles:
Outdated design language
Confusing, irrelevant banners and testimonials
Students in search of trust, clarity, and careers
Technical glitches sabotaging paid campaigns
Old Homepage of Timepro
A focused set of design improvements aimed at enhancing clarity, trust, and engagement across the platform. Each initiative was built around understanding user intent and reducing friction at critical decision points.
Homepage:
Put student priorities front and center, such as assured placements and clear course options. Dynamic sliders in the first fold introduced multiple programs and upcoming events right away, improving awareness and engagement.
Video Testimonials:
Built stories that felt genuine and watchable, designed to hold attention rather than be scrolled past.
Product Pages:
Focused on crystal clarity above the fold with upfront pricing and timelines that helped attract only relevant leads. Showing prices early also reduced sales stress and improved conversion quality. Added quick Enquire Now access for repeat visitors, along with industry news and featured courses to encourage cross-sell.
Perseverance earns trust: The toughest challenge was getting approval for the homepage redesign. Running small experiments, proving real impact, and building credibility over time turned resistance into support. Lesson: Don’t fight to prove others wrong, prove your approach right, one test at a time.
Clarity reduces friction: Clear communication of offerings, pricing, and timelines increased user confidence and reduced drop-offs.
Transparency builds trust: Showing pricing upfront improved lead quality and reduced sales pressure.
Prioritize user intent: Designing around what students actively sought made navigation purposeful and efficient.
Above-the-fold impact: Placing key information in the first fold improved engagement and awareness.
Authentic stories perform better: Relatable video testimonials drew higher attention than generic ones.
Streamline for returning users: Quick access actions like Enquire Now enhanced the repeat user journey.
Contextual cross-sell drives exploration: Featuring related courses within relevant sections encouraged organic discovery.
This adventure wouldn’t have been possible without an incredible cast—Mr. Amiya Ranjan, Neha Jhunjhunwala, Manish Srivastava, and countless others. A special shoutout to Yatharth and Niyati, whose creative fire powered the entire experience.
My heartfelt thanks also go to Salima and Shweta for their invaluable support and thorough testing of the product pages, which helped in getting the buy-in from the management.
